Tip: Drink more water when your stomach is empty - soon after you wake up, one to two hours after heavy meals, and lesser water just enough for swallowing and to aid digestion after you take up food.

Fill your plate with food of different colours. Such colour rich food contains antioxidants which shield your body from many ailments.

Tip: Opt for different foods that are colour intense - beetroots, capsicum, carrot, green leafy vegetables, brown or black rice, tomatoes, cherries, melons, oranges, etc. 

3. Focus on Variety

When you stick to only certain types of food, as many people do, your body is deprived of other nutrients that are found in the foods that you do not eat. This may cause vitamin deficiencies and other health problems.
